Subtle & Stylish Valentines Day Decor

I grew up in a home with seasonal decor. Beyond the standard Christmas tree, my mom would set up little seasonal scenes on a shelf in our guest bathroom. A tiny snowy day in the winter, a bunny and eggs as spring came around…so, naturally, I retain the urge to decorate seasonally.

And it’s never so important as in the dead of Minnesota winter, when you could really use some color and life in your house. Which means valentines day!

I’m not into heart banners and cupid on a pillow or any of the other cheesy decorations you can find among the chocolate boxes at Target, so today I decided to round up some subtle and stylish valentines decor options that will bring just the right touch of love to your house.

To begin, I love to start with the classic mom move of switching out the kitchen and/or guest bathroom hand towels for a seasonal option, so I found an option both for the classy and the sassy among us.

Of course, one of the easiest swaps to make for a new season is to switch out your throw pillows. I found a couple of good blush options that are just screaming “I want to snuggle!” and a white one that’s shaped like a heart.

If you want to dress up your bedroom, it doesn’t get cuter than these couple pillow cases (we had these back when we were dating long distance <3).

If your kitchen has a coffee bar, it would be so cute to swap your mugs for these ones that have a special secret—a hidden heart once you pour your coffee!

And of course, if you’re making a special dinner for your sweetheart, you might as well do it in a heart-shaped dutch oven that doubles as valentines day decor all month long.
