Walk-In Closet Inspiration Roundup

Inspiration

Yesterday, I shared a bunch of practical tips for how we planned our Ikea Pax closet. And while I’m sure it was a helpful post to some of you, you might have been missing something…like, hello, the eye candy?!

I know, I know, what’s the point of having great storage if it doesn’t look good?

My thoughts exactly.

So, today I thought I would share some of the design inspiration we’re starting with for our master closet.

We want something gender neutral (since we’ll both use it, obviously) and truly custom-feeling.

I also want the space to feel luxurious, glamorous, and high-end, without having to lay it on too thick (no crystal chandeliers). It’s a pass-through space, so it can handle some color play and maybe even be a bit over-the-top, but we also need it to be practical since we’ll actually be getting dressed in there.

So, combining all of those requirements brings us…I don’t know where.

Since our design ideas are still very much up in the air, I thought I would share a roundup of all of the best closet ideas I could find. Get ready for some fun!

Crisp White Closet Inspiration

To begin with, I wanted to share some classic, crisp white closet inspiration. I feel like these are the closets you think of when you think about your master closet, and the white base gives you so much opportunity for metallic accents or even a fun rug.

White is such a great option for a master closet because it keeps the lighting neutral, allowing you to really see the shades of your clothes and see what goes together. Click to see more closet inspiration!

White is such a great option because it keeps the lighting neutral, allowing you to really see the shades of your clothes and see what goes together. Plus, we’re getting rid of the window in our closet, so it is important to keep from having too dark of a room.

You also have to remember that you’ll inject a lot of color in your closet just by adding your clothes (unless you only wear one color!). It can feel a bit busy if there’s too much going on.

Colorful Closet Inspiration

On the other hand, why not have a little fun!?!

Your closet is probably a pass-through space: you're there for a good time, not a long time. So why not inject a little life, personality and color into it? Click to see more closet inspiration on The Cozy Clarks!

Your closet is probably a pass-through space: you’re there for a good time, not a long time. So why not inject a little life, personality and fun into it?

While you might not have the same plain backdrop, you can keep it classy by focusing on just one color in the closet and pairing it with neutrals. I think the dark blue closet looks so high-end, but, again, we don’t have a window in our closet, so it might be a bit much.

These colorful closets bring so much life into the space, don’t they? It seems like a really fun place to get dressed.

What do you think—would you want a white closet or a burst of color?
