I love a black and gold light fixture! In fact, when Dustin sees something that combines black and brass, he loves to point it out (with a sassy comment for good measure). I guess I’m predictable, but we love a theme!
Plus, I feel like black and brass were made for each other: the depth of the black allows the bright brass to shine, and the black grounds and modernizes the glam golden tones. I went to a college where our colors were black and gold and we’d say “Black and Gold Never Gets Old!”—it’s true!
Today, I thought it would be fun to share all of the brass and black fixtures in our home—so you can see how they work together to really make the house feel connected and continuous. Almost every room has a black and brass light fixture (and those that don’t pretty much have either black or brass. What can I say? I know what I like.).
Plus, because I know we’re all working on different budgets, I also put together some budget-friendly black and gold lighting options too. Ready? Let’s dive in!
A House Full of Black and Brass Lighting
To begin, I’m rounding up all of the lighting in our home that combines black and gold to beautiful effect! (Side note: I’m also including the black versions of a couple fixtures we have in white and gold, just to stay on theme! )
Here is what a whole house of black and gold lights looks like:

Sources: Kitchen Wall Sconce | Linear Black and Gold Chandelier (also available as a flush mount and chandelier)| Swoop Floor Lamp | Bowtie Wall Sconce | Black Flush Mount with Gold Base | Floral Style Black and Gold Flush Mount | Rounded Flush Mount with Gold Interior | Flat Flush Mount with Gold Interior | Black and Gold Pendant | Task Sconce
Budget-Friendly Black and Gold Lighting
And, because I know there are some more splurgey lighting options above, I thought it would be a fun challenge to hunt down some black and gold lighting for a tighter budget.
We’ve really been swapping lights out over the course of 2+ years, so that’s why we were sometimes willing to spend a little bit more (and then wait a while to do the next one). Over time, a whole house of lighting is much more approachable.
If you’re looking to save some money, or you want to do a whole house at once, here are some ideas:

Sources: Flat Flush Mount with Gold Interior | Dual Light Sconce | Industrial Task Sconce | Black Flush Mount with Gold Base | Dome Pendant with Gold Interior | Bowtie Chandelier | Cone Pendant with Gold Interior | Schoolhouse Light in Black and Gold | Task Table Lamp
Mixed Metal Light Fixtures
So, there you have it. I hope this tour of our black and brass lighting (plus some budget options) gave you some fun ideas that you can apply to your home! It’s such a fun, modern, chic color combination—I can’t wait to see how you use it!
PS—This isn’t the first time I’ve shared great lighting ideas! Check out my previous posts: Save vs. Splurge: Lighting Edition and Flush Mounts for $50: Updating the Boob Light for Less
